Dog Care Away From Home
Background
​Home security systems and smart home devices are becoming increasingly more prevalent in daily life. A good portion of homeowners who may be interested in these types of devices have pets, but the devices that control their home lack ways of assisting their pets from afar.
Team Info
We are a team of three interaction designers (UX/UI) and researchers with three years of experience in this field. We design different physical and digital products with the goal of solving human problems. We all love dogs and wanted to dive deep into how the dog care process could be easier on owners.
Problem
​Owners of dogs have to spend money on boarding and pet care when away from home. A lot more dogs nowadays tend to have separation anxiety and will misbehave when under no supervision. As home security and smart home technology continues to advance there are many possibilities in the front of automated dog care. What is the most efficient way to watch after your dog while away from the house?
An app that connects to a camera/location tracker that connects to a dog collar. The app is compatible with smart home security systems and allows users to complete tasks such as letting the dog out and feeding them while away from home.

The dogs tested had questioned having a box attached to their collars at first but soon didn't give it ant attention and carried on.
